USA Today, the leading news publication in the United States with a total daily average circulation of 4.1 million readers, included the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival in their Travel feature “Best Caribbean Parties of 2015”.

“Warm water, soft winds and a surplus of sunshine make a good foundation for any party, and the people of the Caribbean are keenly adept at supplying the rest: a little rum, a little rumba and the stamina to celebrate into the wee hours.”

“November 5 – 8: The stellar north coast of the Dominican Republic has been the setting for the DR Jazz Festival for the past quarter century and it’s on again this year. The beaches of Sosua, Cabarete and Puerto Plata are the background for performances by the best international Latin jazz artists, which have included Nestor Torres, Claudia Acuña, Chuco Valdez and Ramón Vázquez.

In addition to presenting the best contemporary Latin jazz, the Festival raises money for Fedujazz, a non-profit organization that provides free music education to children in the Dominican Republic. During the festival, performers put on workshops for professional musicians but also for kids from the country’s poorest barrios.”
