FEDUJAZZ held a Grand Artisan Bazaar and Concert on Sunday, August 30, 2015, which was an all-day activity enjoyed by the community. The festivities included music presentations by FEDUJAZZ students and teachers, as well as a local merengue band and dancing.
The Artisan Bazaar included handcrafted items and jewelry produced by mothers of the children attending the music workshops. The mothers are participating in their own craft workshops held in conjunction with INFOTEP, which provides technical training programs to the community. The day’s event included food, fun, and games for children and a festive atmosphere for families.
FEDUJAZZ is a non-profit foundation, providing youth of the Dominican Republic with free music programs that enhance their education and increase life opportunities. The new center in Cabarete opened its doors in February 2015, and currently there are over one hundred and twenty students enrolled in free music education and training programs.
